What exactly is a high-end PVC window?
It is not just “plastic”. A Proftex window is an advanced engineered system. The frame is made of high-strength polyvinyl chloride, designed with multiple internal air chambers that break the transmission of temperature. Are PVC windows secure against break-ins?
Absolutely. At Proftex we equip our windows with Roto perimeter security hardware, including “mushroom” locking points that stop the window being forced with a lever. Combined with reinforced profiles and laminated glass, your window becomes a protective barrier that is very hard to get past.
Is it legal to install PVC in my building or community?
Yes, it is completely legal and complies with the Technical Building Code (CTE) in Spain. The only factor to bear in mind is the look of the façade in residents’ communities. At Proftex we have a wide range of colours and finishes that even imitate wood or metal, so you comply with your community’s rules without giving up the best insulation.
How should they be cleaned and maintained properly?
Maintenance is extremely simple:
- Frames: Just wipe with a soft cloth and water and neutral soap. Avoid abrasive products or solvents.
- Mechanisms: We recommend lubricating the hardware (the moving metal parts) once a year so that opening stays smooth.
- Seals: Keeping them free of dust ensures the seal stays 100% airtight for 50 years.
Does Proftex PVC turn yellow in the sun?
